A Christmas message from your local reporter

As Christmas approaches and the year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year 2024 has been. 

Starting as your local reporter for The Moorlander back in January has been a whirlwind adventure, and I’ve loved every moment of uncovering the amazing stories that make Dartmoor and its communities so special.

From major events like the general election to the quieter, heartfelt tales of everyday life, it’s been a privilege to bring your stories to the pages of The Moorlander. 

A personal highlight was spending an evening with the Tavistock Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, witnessing their dedication firsthand during a training exercise. 

And of course, I’ve loved chatting with so many of you and turning your stories into something to be shared and celebrated.

On a personal note, this year has brought some exciting changes for me too.

I moved into a new home and welcomed Willow, my rescue dog, into my life. 

And more recently, I’ve had the pleasure of working on Dartmoor Magazine, a new addition to the Clear Sky Publishing family.

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who support your local paper. 

Your loyalty and enthusiasm make it possible for us to do what we do, and I’m so grateful to be a part of this community.
