Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and a pedal cyclist in Horrabridge, near Tavistock.

Officers were called to the scene at New Park, Horrabridge, at around 5.10pm on Wednesday 7 May, after reports that a white Ford C Max had been involved in the incident with a 12-year-old cyclist.

The boy, who is local to the area, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old local woman, was not injured in the collision. She was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention and driving a motor vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.

She has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via their website or by calling 101, quoting log number 528 of 07/05/25.
