Two new minibuses have been purchased to improve transport links in rural areas of Devon.
Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the vehicles will operate in six locations: Teign Valley, Chudleigh, Bovey, Ashburton, Haytor and Ambrook.
The project is a joint initiative between Dartmoor National Park Authority, Newton Abbot Community Transport Association, local town and parish councils, and district council partners.
The funding guarantees the service will be supported for the next five years.
The Newton Abbot Community Transport Association, which will run the minibuses, has published route and pricing information on its website.
The initiative is appealing for more volunteer drivers to support the new service.
Drivers will help residents attend medical appointments, do essential shopping, and make other necessary journeys.
There is also a need for administrative volunteers to assist at the Newton Abbot office with booking enquiries and phone calls.
Interested parties can find more information on the organisation’s website or email: admin@newtonabbotcta.org.
