Dartmoor Zoo has announced the launch of annual passes allowing visitors to pay once and return multiple times over 12 months.
The move comes amid ongoing concerns about rising living costs affecting family budgets.
The zoo, which has operated for 55 years, has restructured its ticketing to offer greater flexibility and value, while maintaining free admission for children under three years old.
This policy differs from other zoos in the Devon area.
David Gibson, CEO of Dartmoor Zoo, said: “We are very aware of the impact the cost-of-living crisis is having on families, particularly those with young children who face childcare and household expenses. We will never charge for under 3s visiting with a paying adult. Introducing children to the natural world early may encourage better environmental awareness in the future.”
The annual pass is part of a wider initiative including free onsite parking and discounted tickets for additional children at selected events.
In addition, Dartmoor Zoo has partnered with the National Marine Aquarium on a ‘Wet & Wild’ scheme.
Visitors buying full-price tickets at either site can receive a 30 per cent discount on admission to the other within 15 days.
The zoo reported a strong visitor turnout over Easter, reflecting continued local interest despite economic challenges.
