The A380 southbound at Telegraph Hill has been closed due to crash investigation work, with queueing traffic and disruption expected throughout the day.
The closure is in place between the A38 at Splatford Split and Great Haldon.
The Moorlander understands the road is shut following a road traffic collision, and is likely to remain closed for the rest of the day.
Drivers are being urged to seek alternative routes, with delays expected on the A38 and surrounding roads, particularly during peak travel hours.
