This October, hundreds of women will lace up their walking boots to take part in Warrior Women Walk 2025, a powerful outdoor challenge organised by Plymouth-based charity Trevi. The women-only 10K event, now in its fourth year, will take place on Sunday, 12th October, along a scenic circular route across Burrator, Dartmoor.
More than just a fundraiser, the Warrior Women Walk is a symbol of strength, resilience, and solidarity for women recovering from trauma, addiction, and abuse. Many of the participants are women who have experienced domestic violence or have been impacted by the criminal justice system; for them, the event is deeply personal.
“Warrior Women Walk isn’t about physical endurance,” says Amanda Greenwood, Trevi’s CEO. “It’s about courage, community, and reclaiming power. Many of the women walking have already faced unimaginable battles. This event celebrates how far they’ve come and invites others to stand with them.”
Participants will walk side by side with survivors, Trevi staff, volunteers, and corporate partners, including official event sponsor Plymouth Citybus, part of the Go-Ahead Group. The walk also draws together women connected to Trevi’s services: Jasmine Mother & Child, Daffodil Family Centre, Blossom Women’s House, and Sunflower Women’s Centre, alongside allies, funders, and local champions.
This year, Trevi is aiming to raise over £50,000 to fund its trauma-informed, frontline services that help women heal, rebuild their lives, and achieve safety and independence. Funds raised will go directly to programmes that support women navigating addiction recovery, domestic abuse, and the challenges of the justice system.
Founded in Plymouth more than 30 years ago, Trevi has become a national leader in supporting women and children impacted by trauma. Its integrated services provide safe accommodation, family support, and practical and emotional tools to help women build new futures.
