Audiences in Exeter can start Christmas in sparkling style as Exeter Philharmonic Choir brings its signature sound to the festive season in the atmospheric setting of Exeter Cathedral.
Winter nights are the perfect time to share the joys of Christmas music, and the Choir’s two nights of carols in Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 December are a magical way to get into the festive spirit.
The Choir will be in excellent company - joined by popular trumpeters Cameron Todd and Ross Brown, the enchanting voice of solo soprano Katie Trethewey, and Stephen Tanner turning up the volume on the mighty organ.
Audience members have their own special part to play, singing familiar carols with gusto while Exeter Philharmonic Choir sprinkles its customary star dust with festive melodies. Timed to coincide with the Christmas Market on Cathedral Green, what better way to begin your Christmas?
The season of Advent is also a time for charitable giving. This year the carol concerts will support the vital work of Exeter Leukaemia Fund, and the Choir is delighted to welcome ELF’s Chief Executive Molly Southwood as the special guest speaker. Exeter Leukaemia Fund offers a range of support services for haematology patients, as well as their families and the NHS teams who help care for those with leukaemia. There will be retiring collections for ELF on both evenings.
