A local housebuilder is marking a major sales milestone by opening its doors to the community with a free open day later this month.
David Wilson Homes has announced that around 80% of properties at its Hampton Mill development on Crediton Road have now been sold, just three years after construction began. Nearly 71 homes have been purchased, leaving only 18 still available.
To celebrate the achievement, the housebuilder will host an open day on Saturday 31 January, from 11am to 3pm. The event will give prospective buyers the opportunity to view homes that are ready to move into immediately, many of which include upgraded kitchens and flooring throughout, with selected properties also featuring blinds and light fittings.
Visitors to the one-day event will be able to speak with a David Wilson mortgage advisor and a local estate agent, both on hand to offer expert guidance on buying a home. Complimentary pizza and refreshments will also be available while guests explore the development’s show home.
Located on the outskirts of Okehampton and close to Dartmoor National Park, Hampton Mill offers countryside living while retaining easy access to local amenities. The town centre, supermarkets and schools are all less than a five-minute drive away, providing what the developer describes as a balance between suburban convenience and rural surroundings.
Richard Lawson, Sales Director for David Wilson, said: “We’re thrilled to see how popular homes have been since we began building at Hampton Mill just three years ago. The development has a fantastic growing community and is perfectly situated in a prime location that offers countryside living, with easy connections to cities such as Exeter and Plymouth.
“With the development’s popularity soaring amongst local house hunters, we anticipate that the remaining homes will sell quickly as it continues to attract buyers looking for homes with modern interiors in a well-connected and desirable region.
“We’d like to invite anyone interested in luxury living in Devon to join us for our Open Day to discover what life could be like at Hampton Mill.”
The Hollinwood house type is eligible for David Wilson’s part-exchange scheme, allowing buyers to trade in their existing property for a quicker and more straightforward purchase.
All homes at Hampton Mill have been built with energy efficiency in mind, incorporating features such as high-performance insulation, argon-filled double glazing and photovoltaic solar panels to help reduce household energy bills. Sustainability measures extend across the wider development, with bird boxes, bee bricks and hedgehog highways included as part of the design.
