A day of colour, music and inclusivity will be held in Tavistock this July, as West Devon Borough Council announces its backing for this year’s Pride festival.
The event, which celebrates diversity and community spirit, will take place in The Meadows on Saturday 5 July and is expected to draw visitors from across the region.
Tavistock Pride will begin with a procession through the town before culminating in a festival at The Meadows. Activities on the day will include live music, poetry readings, circus workshops and more, with organisers aiming to create a family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Cllr Mandy Ewings, Leader of West Devon Borough Council, said: “Pride is not just a celebration; it's a powerful statement of unity and acceptance. At West Devon Borough Council, we believe in the importance of creating a community where everyone feels valued and respected. Supporting Tavistock Pride is a reflection of our dedication to inclusivity and our recognition of the diverse voices that make our community strong.”
This year’s event marks a continued effort by the borough to support the LGBTQ+ community and promote inclusivity throughout West Devon.
Organisers are encouraging residents and visitors alike to take part and show their support.
