Stagecoach South West
Two young apprentices from Stagecoach South West have been honoured for their achievements at a national awards ceremony.
The Apprentice of the Year event took place last week at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, celebrating the work of Stagecoach trainees across the country.
Daniel Starling, from the South West team, won the National Year 1 Apprentice of the Year Award.
The award praised his hard work and progress during his first year of training in engineering.

Closer to home, Sam Down was named Stagecoach South West’s Engineering Apprentice of the Year.
His award recognised his dedication and the contribution he has made to the local bus services.
Anthony Vincent, Engineering Director at Stagecoach South West, said: "We are incredibly proud of both Daniel and Sam for their achievements and the recognition they have received. Daniel’s national award is a fantastic reflection of his progress and potential, while Sam’s success as our regional Apprentice of the Year demonstrates the high calibre of apprentices across the South West. Both are an inspiration to their peers and a credit to our engineering teams."
Stagecoach South West runs its apprenticeship scheme across the region, giving local people the chance to build skills and careers in engineering.
The company says the awards are a way of celebrating the next generation of workers who will help keep bus services running in local communities.
