Delays on M5 in Devon after lorry catches fire

Lorry fire shuts M5 northbound near Exeter in Devon as police and fire crews respond between junctions 30 and 29

Motorists travelling from Dartmoor towards Exeter are facing disruption after a lorry fire closed the M5 northbound between junctions 30 and 29.

The northbound carriageway has been closed at junction 30 while emergency services deal with the incident.

Police, the fire service and National Highways remain at the scene, and the situation is ongoing.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

12.42pm - National Highways confirm the lorry fire being dealt with by Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue. There are long delays of 30 minutes in the area.
