Police appealing for witnesses after motorcyclist seriously injured in Plymouth collision

Witnesses are being urged to come forward following the collision on Mannamead Road involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Mannamead Road in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to the scene, near the Esso garage, at around 12.40pm yesterday (Thursday 23 October).

The collision involved a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck and a black Kawasaki motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man in his 30s from the Plymouth area was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.

He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance all attended the scene.

The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to examine the area and was reopened shortly before 4pm.

Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage, to come forward.
