Dartmoor road set for week-long closure during essential repairs

Devon County Council undertakes week-long Dartmoor road maintenance and fencing work

Devon County Council has announced a temporary road closure in Dartmoor for essential maintenance work.

Fencing and edge support work on the Road to Hapstead Village, West Buckfastleigh, is scheduled from Monday 10 November to Friday 14 November 2025. The project aims to repair the road edge and replace fencing to ensure safety for all users.

The work will be carried out under a daytime road closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained, with an operative available to escort people safely through the site. Emergency vehicle access will remain unaffected throughout the duration of the works.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys in the area while the maintenance is underway.
