The Moorlander understands the new venue will feature a coffee shop and food-to-go options, alongside a wide selection of baked goods made fresh every day.
Shoppers can expect freshly baked bread, scones, teacakes, rock cakes, saffron buns, and lemon drizzle cake, all created using traditional family recipes.
The shop will also offer Strawberry Fields’ signature range, including pies, pasties, quiches, jams, chutneys, fresh fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, and a selection of butchery items.

Everything will be prepared on site, with the bakery team baking from scratch daily, meaning customers can often pick up goods still warm from the oven.
Strawberry Fields, best known for its Lifton farm with a large farm shop, bakery, butchery, and restaurant, offers fresh, home-grown produce, homemade pies, local goods, and seasonal events such as pumpkin festivals and pick-your-own strawberries.
The company also has locations in Buckfastleigh and Exeter.
The Dartmoor Diner, a landmark for motorists heading to and from Dartmoor, closed in December 2025 and has stood empty since. Its transformation into a farm shop is expected to attract both regular customers and new visitors to the area.
Social media reactions show plenty of local interest. One commenter wrote: “Oh they have bought the Dartmoor Diner ooh”, while another joked: “Cornwall next please”.
Others tagged friends, sharing the news with enthusiasm.
The new venue is expected to open Spring 2026.
