The A386 is closed in both directions after a vehicle flipped near the Dartmoor Diner, causing heavy traffic and major disruption. Emergency services, including National Grid, are at the scene, and police have confirmed nobody is believed to have suffered serious injury.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area where possible.

3.35pm: A National Grid spokesperson said: “Electricity supplies to customers in the Roborough area and further north along the A386 were disrupted this afternoon after damage to our network due to a vehicle collision. Power has been restored to more than 500 customers and we are working to reconnect 14 properties still affected as quickly as possible.”

3.10pm: Devon and Cornwall Police have told The Moorlander that the pole involved in the collision is live, and National Grid remain on scene managing the situation.

3.00pm: Devon and Cornwall Police confirm they were called at around 1.40pm following reports of a single-vehicle collision at Roborough. It was reported that the vehicle flipped and collided with a pole. Emergency services and National Grid are on scene managing the situation.

2.55pm: The A386 remains closed both ways between Tamerton Road at the Belliver roundabout and Little Down Lane. Queueing traffic is reported along the route.
