Drivers in Totnes are being warned to expect delays after multiple sets of temporary traffic lights were installed across the town for emergency highway works.
According to Devon Alert, the lights were put in place for several separate reactive repair jobs, mainly to fix potholes in the carriageway.
In a message issued at 11am on Tuesday (10 March), the alert service said: “There are multiple sets of temporary traffic lights in Totnes for separate sets of emergency works, however these should only be in place until tomorrow (Wednesday).”

According to Devon County Council’s live roadworks map, reactive works began on Monday (9 March) and cover several locations in and around the town centre, including areas opposite White Door, under the arch, opposite Hay Hill Gates and near the memorial crossing point.
Repairs are also being carried out near Stone Cross or Minerva, as well as outside properties including number 1 and number 4 on affected streets.
Most of the work relates to pothole repairs, with some classed as safety repairs and others involving patching sections of the carriageway.
