Easter holiday events continue across Dartmoor - here’s what families can still catch

From woodland egg hunts to craft workshops, see what’s still happening across Dartmoor and wider Devon this Easter holidays

Families across Dartmoor and the surrounding Devon area still have time to catch a range of Easter holiday events before schools return later this month.

Many trails, workshops and outdoor activities are running through to Sunday 19 April, with organisers offering a mix of low-cost and free options alongside ticketed attractions.

Among the main ongoing attractions is the Canonteign Falls Easter programme near Exeter, which includes a giant Easter egg hunt alongside activities such as alpaca walks and archery sessions, running from 3 to 19 April.

At Becky Falls, near Manaton, the annual Easter egg hunt is continuing throughout the holidays, with families invited to follow clues through woodland areas to find hidden eggs. 

Other ongoing activities include “Easter Trail Family Fun”, running until Sunday 19 April, and seasonal programmes at Go Ape Haldon, where Easter-themed activities and treetop challenges are continuing through the holidays.

Creative and indoor options are also available across the moor.

In Bovey Tracey, Easter craft sessions at Pom Stitch Tassel are running until 18 April, offering hands-on activities for children during the break, while in Newton Abbot, a family Lego workshop is due to take place on Friday 10 April.

Community events also feature in the Dartmoor listings, including a spring fair at Tavistock Butchers Hall and a series of performances of Chagford Panto  ‘Peter Pan in Never Ever Land’ running across multiple dates between Thursday 9 and Saturday 11 April. 

A Spring Wild Foods Walk is also scheduled for Saturday 11 April, offering a guided introduction to seasonal plants and foraging on Dartmoor.

The Dartmoor Marathon takes place on Sunday 12 April near Tavistock, bringing runners and spectators to the moor. 

Ranger-led sessions for children aged six to 12 are also due to take place at Dartmoor Zoo between Monday 13 and Wednesday 15 April.

Later in the month, further events include a spring pop-up market in Chagford on Sunday 19 April.

Beyond Dartmoor, additional Easter and seasonal events are continuing for communities across wider Devon.

These include Easter trails at attractions such as Knightshayes near Tiverton and Babbacombe Model Village in Torquay, as well as wildlife-themed activities at the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and seasonal events at Pennywell Farm in Buckfastleigh.

Free town trails are also running in Dawlish, while theatre performances and workshops are taking place in locations including Exmouth and Plymouth.

Visitors are advised to check availability and booking requirements, particularly for smaller sessions and workshops.
