Okehampton BID prepares for first AGM as members face key decisions

The first annual meeting will take place at the Town Hall on Friday, with finances, future projects and members' questions on the agenda
Okehampton Business Improvement District (BID) will hold its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Friday (November 6), giving members an opportunity to review its finances and discuss plans for the year ahead.
The meeting will take place in the Chamber at Okehampton Town Hall, starting at 10am.
Encouraging members to attend, the BID said: “This is your BID and your levy. Come and see where it goes, ask the awkward questions, and have your say on what we do next.”
The agenda includes a report from the chair, an update on projects planned for the forthcoming year and a review of the organisation's finances.
Members will also consider summary accounts for the years ending September 30, 2025 and September 30, 2026, alongside a financial forecast for the year ending September 30, 2027.
The meeting will conclude with an opportunity for other business to be raised.
BID manager Duncan Swift has asked members planning to attend to confirm their place by emailing [email protected].
Those unable to attend can submit questions by email ahead of the meeting.
The BID has said the AGM slides and minutes will be published on the Visit Okehampton website afterwards.
Only BID members are entitled to attend or vote.
Members are asked to bring the meeting agenda as evidence of their membership.
A member who cannot attend may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf, provided the proxy brings a letter of authorisation signed on the member's business letterhead.
Where several representatives attend on behalf of one member business, only one will be permitted to speak or vote. Businesses occupying more than one premises will still have one vote.
