ORC at Peter Tavy Plod
Okehampton runners exploring all the tracks and trails
Okehampton Running Club celebrated a spectacular end to the summer season with amazing results all across the region.
In the Peter Tavy Plod across over four miles of Moorland tracks, Jo Page was the first ORC member across the line in 35:14, followed by Ian Ripper, Daniel Heggs, Carole Loader, Euan Ripper and Paul Evison.
Angus Farrelly recorded a time just over an hour in the Lustleigh 10km, taking in the stunning woodland alongside the River Bovey, while Claire Sprague headed east for the hilly Woodbury Common 10km.
Paul Evison produced a superb club record MV70 and personal best time of 1:44:53 in the Bridgwater Half Marathon. Plenty of training in preparation for the race clearly paid off, as Paul finished fourth in the over 60 category.
Deborah Cunningham just broke the two-hour mark in the Roadford Lake Triathlon, comprising a 750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run, while Katie Littlejohns Riches and Chris Turner were in Cornwall for the Launceston Road Runners’ Treggy 7.
Racing through the town and along rural roads, Chris beat his PB by two seconds and Katie’s time of 48:30 is a new club record in the seven-mile category.
