October 2025 has been a month etched in the minds of all Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle fans since the Sky Bet League One fixtures were released in June.
The two sides last met at St James Park in April 2023, a 1-0 win for the Pilgrims, and this next edition of a classic encounter on Thursday evening is guaranteed to be full of passion and drama.
But, before all that, the Grecians have a tough trip north to face Stockport County on Saturday. The home side sit fourth in the table and enter the game on the back of wins over Blackpool and Huddersfield.
City have also enjoyed an upturn in form after a dismal September, drawing 1-1 with Reading last week after a superb last-gasp victory at Lincoln City.
With that Devon derby on the horizon, the Grecians and Pilgrims are currently level on 13 points, just a few places above the relegation zone. Argyle host Wimbledon this weekend and the City hope will be to at least match the result of their big rivals, guaranteeing positional superiority ahead of the big day.
