Despite the positive start to their Gallagher Premiership season, fans of Exeter Chiefs could be forgiven for fearing a false dawn, a return to the woes of 2024/25 was just around the corner.
It now appears those concerns are unfounded.
Welcoming Harlequins to a soggy Sunday at Sandy Park, the Chiefs delivered a fabulous attacking display alongside solid and disciplined defence, providing the platform for a dominant 38-0 victory.
The Chiefs were outstanding in the first half, rattling through the Quins with a hat-trick of tries in rapid succession. Henry Slade enjoyed an inspired afternoon, providing the pass for Immanuel Feyi-Waboso to scored before diving over himself from the next attack.
Harvey Skinner extended the lead to 24-0 before half-time and Greg Fisilau barrelled over in the corner to confirm a bonus point early in the second period. Slade would go on to add another try in the final minutes to his personal tally, as well as kicking 13 points for the home side.
The Chiefs host Gloucester this weekend and a great opportunity to underline their renewed confidence against a side still searching for their first win of the campaign.
