Great weekend for Ivybridge RFC
When it comes to sporting weekends, Ivybridge Rugby Club will look back on early November with a big smile when the long season comes to an end in the spring.
It is not often that all four teams from the same club can celebrate victories together, but that was the happy scenario for the Ivies last weekend.
It started with the men’s first XV sharing an incredible 88 points with Cullompton in a barnstorming match. The home tries were scored by Dan Gloyns, Tom Scoles (2), Harry Newman-Wild, Seb Musgrave, Jamie Campbell, Joe Owen and Charlie Teague for a 57-31 triumph.
After a tricky start to the campaign, the Ivybridge Vandals recorded an important 20-17 win at Dartmouth and there was a comprehensive win for the Colts, beating Devonport Services 40-17.
Not to be outdone, Ivybridge Ladies are flying at the top of their division, and they delivered a ruthless 92-0 demolition on the road at Cheltenham Tigers.
