Tavistock Football Development Centre (TFDC) is inviting local businesses to get involved in supporting grassroots football across West Devon.

Working with children and young people aged 4–18, the centre provides regular training sessions in a structured, positive environment, helping players grow both in confidence and ability.

TFDC operates alongside Tavistock AFC, creating a clear pathway from youth football into the men’s and ladies’ teams. The programme aims to bridge the challenging transition from youth to open-age football, improving preparation, raising standards, and providing guidance for young players as they take this crucial step in their football journey.

How Businesses Can Help

TFDC has opened a small number of partnership opportunities for local businesses, offering a range of ways to support the centre and its players:

  • Supporting the Development Centre: Contributions help cover essential costs such as pitch hire, equipment, and facilities, keeping training affordable and accessible for local families.
  • Community Support for Families: Partners can assist children whose families may be struggling financially, funding training fees, kit, or essential equipment. Support is provided sensitively to ensure no child misses out.
  • The Rising Lamb: Named in line with Tavistock AFC’s men’s team, The Lambs, this scheme allows businesses to back individual players demonstrating potential, commitment, and progression within TFDC. The initiative ensures that promising players receive the support needed to continue developing in a performance- and wellbeing-focused environment.
  • Development Squad Sponsorship (U15–U18): This opportunity supports players at a critical stage, preparing them for adult football through high-intensity training and matches against strong South West opposition. Sponsorship covers training facilities, pitch hire, full kit, and tracksuits—all featuring the sponsor’s branding.

Recognition for Local Partners

Supporting businesses are recognised through social media mentions, inclusion in the monthly TFDC newsletter, website listings, and regular thank-you posts celebrating their contribution to youth football in Tavistock.

The partnerships are designed to be simple, affordable, and genuinely local, giving businesses the chance to make a meaningful impact while gaining visibility among families in the community.

TFDC is currently holding informal discussions with interested businesses to explore which type of partnership might be the best fit. For more information, local companies are encouraged to get in touch and discover how they can help support the next generation of footballers in West Devon.
