At Greendale Farm near Farrindgon, families can enjoy the Spring on the Farm event on 16 February, which includes a guided tour of the expansive Farm Trail. Over at Theatre Alibi, the venue is teaming up with St Thomas Library to mark the National Year of Reading with a full week of workshops, storytelling sessions and creative activities at Emmanuel Hall. Children of all ages can take part, learn new skills and even receive a personalised poem.

Changing Faces on 18 February invites children to explore identity through costume, inspired by the Grayson Perry exhibition Aspects of Myself. Kids can try on outfits from different eras and cultures and imagine stepping into another time or place. On 19 February, Music Moments from Around the World offers four family sessions where children can experiment with rhythm, explore sound and build confidence through playful music-making.

Finally, Castle Drogo, perched above the Teign Gorge around 40 minutes from Exeter, offers miles of woodland paths and special half-term activities centred on the site’s fascinating geology. Families can learn about the area’s contrasting rock formations and even its more recent earthquakes while enjoying the dramatic landscape.
