Fans of British rock are set for a special night in Devon as guitarist Steve Cradock brings his solo tour to Paignton.

Steve Cradock, best known as a founding member of Ocean Colour Scene, has announced a new date at the Palace Theatre as part of his “Travellers Tunes” tour. He will perform at the venue on February 27, 2027, following high demand from fans.

The tour, which first began in March, has already seen multiple dates sell out, prompting the addition of further shows across the UK. It accompanies Cradock’s recently released book of the same name, which reflects on his decades-long career in music.

As a key member of Ocean Colour Scene, Cradock helped shape some of the most recognisable guitar riffs of the past 30 years, including hits like The Riverboat Song, Hundred Mile High City and The Day We Caught the Train. The band rose to prominence in the 1990s Britpop era, achieving five top 10 albums and performing to more than 250,000 people at Oasis Knebworth concerts 1996.

Cradock’s career has extended far beyond the band. He joined Paul Weller’s band in 1992, contributing to all of his studio albums, and later became part of The Specials from 2014 until the death of frontman Terry Hall in 2022.

The solo tour offers audiences a more intimate experience, with Cradock performing songs from the Ocean Colour Scene catalogue alongside material from his solo work. The shows will also feature storytelling, as he shares insights and answers questions about his life in music.

Speaking about the extended tour, Cradock said: “I am having a brilliant time on the road right now and when the opportunity to do it all again next year, I couldn’t refuse.”

Tickets for the Paignton date are expected to be in high demand when booking opens, as fans across the region look forward to seeing one of British rock’s most respected musicians perform live in a smaller venue setting.
