The Moorlander understands that police have temporarily halted traffic on the A38 southbound in Devon, just prior to the split with the A380, to allow snow plough gritters to work safely.

National Highways have announced on their X page that the disruption, caused by heavy snowfall in the area, has led to delays of up to 45 minutes for motorists. Road crews are working to clear the snow and grit the road to improve conditions for travel.

Drivers are advised to take extra care when travelling in the area, as the wintery conditions are expected to continue.
