Year 11’s at Holsworthy Community College celebrate GCSE exam achievement

Students at Holsworthy Community College have received their GCSE results and are celebrating as they prepare to take the next steps in their educational journey.

Staff and students have come together to recognise the achievements of pupils who have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to earn these grades.

The college community is proud of its students, many of whom are now looking to progress onto post-16 education pathways.

Some individual highlights include:

  • Jay who achieved grades 7-9 in all 9 GCSE subjects, including grade 9 in four subjects.
  • James who achieved grades 7-9 in all 9 GCSE subjects, including grade 9 in five subjects.
  • Calleigh who achieved grades 5-8 in 9 GCSE subjects, including grade 8 in three subjects and a L2 Distinction*.
  • Emilia who achieved grades 5-8 in 8 GCSE subjects, including grade 8 in two subjects

Mr Phil Ruse, Vice Principal said: “We are incredibly proud of the collective achievements of this Year 11 cohort. The outstanding performance across a diverse range of creative arts, sport, and technology-based subjects is also a testament to the rich and varied curriculum available to Holsworthy students.”

Headteacher Andrew Sweeney expressed his gratitude to those who supported the students throughout their journey: "I would like to sincerely thank our students, their families, our dedicated staff, and the wider Holsworthy community for their continued support. As we look ahead to a new academic year, we remain committed to working together to inspire, support, and empower every student to thrive and succeed."
