The final day line-up has been announced for the 2026 Discovery Festival, with indie rock band The Libertines set to headline the closing night.

The three-day event will take place at Central Park Plymouth, with the final day scheduled for Sunday 14 June.

The Moorlander previously reported on the headliners for the Friday and Saturday of the event.

Organisers say the weekend will feature a range of well-known and emerging artists performing in the city.

The Libertines are known for their influential role in British indie rock in the early 2000s. Songs such as Don’t Look Back into the Sun and Can’t Stand Me Now helped establish the band as a major act of the era.

Festival organisers say their performance will close the weekend of live music.

Joining The Libertines on the final day are special guests Feeder.

The Welsh rock group, formed in 1994 by Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose, have released 12 studio albums and sold more than seven million records worldwide.

Their catalogue includes well-known songs such as Buck Rogers, Just a Day, Feeling a Moment and Just the Way I’m Feeling.

Also confirmed for the Sunday line-up are Maxïmo Park, Kid Kapichi, SOFY, and Scottish alternative rock group Swim School.

Maxïmo Park, formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2000, achieved early success with their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album A Certain Trigger.

The record produced several UK Top 40 singles including Apply Some Pressure, Graffiti, Going Missing and I Want You to Stay.

Their second album Our Earthly Pleasures reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and included the Top 10 single Our Velocity.

Kid Kapichi are known for energetic live shows and politically influenced indie rock, while SOFY has built a growing following in the UK music scene.

‘Emotive and immersive’ Scottish band Swim School will open the final day of the festival.

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, chief executive of Discovery Festival Ltd, said:
“We’re back with the final day of the Discovery Festival in Plymouth and it’s one of our favourites. Get ready for The Libertines, Feeder, Maximo Park, Kid Kapichi, SOFY and Swim School coming to light up Central Park in June.”

She added:
“Plymouth Central Park is such an important space for the community and to see it filled with people coming together to enjoy live music is exactly what Discovery Festival is all about.”

Organisers say the festival aims to bring large-scale live music events to the city while supporting the local economy and cultural activity in the region.

The festival is expected to attract visitors from across Plymouth and the wider South West for the three-day event in June.
