A charity concert in Plymouth has raised more than £700 this festive period for a local organisation supporting bereaved parents and families, chosen as the Chief Constable’s charity for 2025.
The event, which took place at Plymouth Methodist Central Hall on Wednesday 17 December, brought together members of the local community for a day of music and celebration.

Monies raised will support Luna’s Fund, a charity that helps families affected by baby loss and supports parents during pregnancy after loss.
Fundraising efforts for Luna's Fund such as snorkelling with sharks and a fitness marathon have previously been reported by The Moorlander.
During the daytime, more than 400 primary school children took part in performances for an audience of parents, carers and teachers.
The children also had the chance to meet local police officers, police cadets and Bravo the police dog.
In the evening, a special concert was held for invited guests, including the Mayor, the High Sheriff and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant.
Performances were given by Italia Conti, The Legacy Choir and Plymouth Youth Music Service.
Aimee Green, Chief Executive Officer of Luna’s Fund and mother of Luna, gave a speech during the evening to thank everyone involved.

She spoke about the importance of the charity’s work and expressed her gratitude to performers, organisers and those who donated.
Luna’s Fund provides practical and emotional support to families who have experienced baby loss, as well as to parents expecting a baby after loss.
The charity was chosen as the Chief Constable’s Foundation charity for 2025.
Plymouth Commander, Chief Superintendent Matt Longman, said he was proud to attend the event and thanked the community for its support.
“Devon & Cornwall Police are incredibly grateful for the outstanding generosity shown by the people of Plymouth,” he said.
“The money raised for Luna’s Fund will make a real difference to families who are grieving, and we are proud to support a charity that offers such important care during difficult times.
“I would also like to thank everyone who took part. The performances were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see the community come together at Christmas to support such a meaningful cause.”
Organisers said the event would not have been possible without the support of performers, volunteers, emergency services staff and everyone who attended.
