Cyclists in the Devon Delight
The South Devon Cycle Touring Club is coming to the end of a busy and successful 2025 summer season, with benefits on and off the bike.
In the last few weeks the local CTC has held its Devon Delight and Harman Hundred events.
A field of 130 riders signed up for the Delight, which took them from Newton Abbot to Stoke Canon, near Exeter, and back.
The Harman Hundred tackled two ascents of Haldon on its way to Killerton, Silverton, Whimple, Ottery St Mary and back.
Many riders tested themselves over new distances for the first time, and they knew that their efforts were helping fellow enthusiasts on other days.
Surplus funds from the Devon Dirt, Delight and Devil events have helped to buy and install a new Public Cycle Maintenance Station at Stover Country Park, featuring tools, pumps, a shelter and eBike charging point.
The Devil, which first started in 1993, awaits on October 25.
