A Devon doctor is believed to be playing a role in the cancer treatment of King Charles.
Dr Michael Dixon is understood to be involved in the medical team looking after the King after his cancer diagnosis.
Dr Dixon is the Head of the Royal Medical Household after being appointed in 2022.
He has worked in the NHS for nearly five decades and practises as a part-time doctor at the Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health in Cullompton.
Neither Buckingham Palace or the health centre would comment today.
The Palace announced on Monday evening (February 5) that the King Charles had started cancer treatment as an outpatient in London.
The revelation came following the discovery of the cancer while he King was undergoing hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate. Although the specific type of cancer has not been disclosed by the Palace, it has been confirmed that it is not prostate cancer.
Despite the challenging diagnosis, King Charles has remained resolute in fulfilling his duties, albeit with necessary adjustments.
While he has been advised to postpone his public-facing engagements, the King will continue to carry out his responsibilities behind the scenes, focusing on state affairs and official matters.
His return from Sandringham to London on Monday has signified the commencement of his treatment as an outpatient.
The news of the cancer diagnosis has led to an outpouring of sympathy and well-wishes from across the nation.
