Accomplishment for Okehampton College as students receive GCSE grades

Pupils praised for success in Maths and Sciences as the College marks GCSE results day with pride

Okehampton College students celebrated strong grades across a range of subjects as they received their GCSE results today (August 21).

Staff and students alike marked a moment of pride at the college, part of Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, as the students now prepare to take the next steps in their education journey, whether at the college or elsewhere.

Students across the college academy performed well, with some of the individual standout achievements including:

Congratulations to Hettie d’Apice who achieved an incredible eight grade 9s and a grade 8. Hettie will be accepting a place at Exeter Maths School.

Eleanor Foster achieved a phenomenal set of results with eight grade 9s and a grade 8.

Congratulations to Conrad Stern who received six grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7. Conrad will be accepting a place at Exeter Maths School.

Congratulations to Abi Smith has achieved eight grade 9s and a grade 8.

Congratulations to Daniel Spence who will be studying Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science at Exeter College after securing five grade 9s and a grade 8.

Gareth Smith, Principal at Okehampton College, said:

"We are all so proud of our students and what they have achieved. They are the year group who were affected by the pandemic meaning they never had a true transition to secondary school. They have worked very hard and should be thrilled with what they have achieved."
