Plan ahead this Easter period as roadworks continue across Plymouth
Drivers in Plymouth are being warned of widespread roadworks during the Easter half-term, with a number of closures, diversions and overnight works planned across the city.
Plymouth City Council has confirmed a series of schemes taking place between Saturday, April 4 and Saturday, April 11, including major resurfacing works on the A38.

The most significant disruption will come from National Highways works on the A38 westbound.
From Tuesday, April 7 to Saturday, April 25, the road will be closed overnight between Manadon Roundabout and St Budeaux Interchange from 7pm to 6am, with diversions in place via Tavistock Road and Crownhill Road.
At the same time, there will be lane closures on all approaches to Manadon Roundabout, with no access to the A38 westbound during these hours.
Further works will also affect the St Budeaux Bypass, where overnight lane closures and temporary traffic signals will be in place over the same period.
A large number of smaller schemes are also scheduled across Plymouth next week, particularly on Tuesday, April 7, when multiple residential roads will be closed during the day for patching repairs.
Areas affected include Ebrington Street, Beaumont Road, Chaucer Way, Gasking Street and Pomphlett Road, with most closures in place between 9.30am and 3pm or during the evening.
Motorists are also being advised of disruption on key commuter routes.
Mannamead Road will see a bus lane closure from April 7 to April 10, followed by overnight road closures from April 10 to April 14.
Wolseley Road will be closed overnight between April 9 and April 14, while Milehouse Road will have lane closures over the same period.
Elsewhere, North Prospect Road will be closed on April 8 with a signed diversion route, and Royal Parade will shut westbound on the evening of April 8.
Additional works are planned across the week, including traffic signals, lane restrictions and short-term closures on roads such as Wembury Road, Alexandra Road, Brest Road and Tavistock Road.
Some works will also run continuously, including repairs on Honicknowle Green, which will remain closed for several days.
Plymouth City Council said the works are part of ongoing maintenance and improvement programmes across the city’s road network.
Drivers are being urged to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys and follow signed diversion routes where necessary.
