Peninsula football for Ilfracombe Town
Changes to the football pyramid for next season
The Football Association has announced the league compositions for clubs from Step 1 to Step 6 for next season and, as always, there are some juicy ties for Devon teams.
At the top this particular football pyramid, Torquay United will again compete in the National League South and will face six new opponents in their fixture calendar.
Coming down from the National League Premier is Dagenham & Redbridge, Ebbsfleet United and Maidenhead United, while the promoted trio comprises AFC Totton, Dover Athletic and Horsham.
In the Southern League Premier, Weymouth will be one of the biggest challenges for the likes of Plymouth Parkway and Tiverton Town following their relegation from the National League South. The promoted teams in this tier include Berkhamsted, Evesham United, Farnham Town, Uxbridge and Yate Town.
Brixham AFC achieved a historic promotion to Division One South of the Southern League, joining fellow Devon clubs Bideford, Exmouth Town, Tavistock and Willand Rovers. The new clubs in this division, along with Brixham, are Frome Town, Hartpury, Portishead Town, Sporting Club Inkberrow, Swindon Supermarine and Winchester City.
At Step 5, Sidmouth Town, Bradford Town, Helston Athletic and Newquay have joined the Western League, while in the South West Peninsula League, Step 6, the new teams in the East Division are Ilfracombe Town and Ilminster Town.
