Chagford jeweller and Gidleigh Park join forces for two pre-Christmas events

A Dartmoor jewellery designer is teaming up with luxury country house hotel Gidleigh Park for two special events in Chagford this November, offering visitors the chance to discover handcrafted jewellery, meet the maker and explore ethically sourced gemstones.
Corrinne Eira Evans, whose jewellery collections draw inspiration from the Dartmoor landscape, will collaborate with the hotel for a free trunk show on Tuesday, November 10, followed by a Champagne and Diamonds evening at her Chagford atelier on Friday, November 20.
The first event, Meet the Maker at Gidleigh Park, will take place from 11am to 4.30pm on November 10. Visitors will be able to browse a selection of Corrinne’s handcrafted designs, featuring woven gold and silver chainmail alongside naturally flawed diamonds and sapphires.
Corrinne will be available throughout the day to talk about the history and techniques of fine chainmail, explain how Dartmoor inspires her work and discuss bespoke jewellery commissions.
The event is free to attend, with no booking required, and will be held at Gidleigh Park, Chagford, TQ13 8HH.
The second event, Champagne and Diamonds at Corrinne Eira Evans Atelier, will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Friday, November 20, at 1 Mill Street, Chagford.
Guests will be invited to enjoy seasonal drinks while exploring a curated collection of natural diamonds from internationally recognised specialists Misfit Diamonds. The diamonds are described as ethically sourced and fully documented, with consideration given to environmental impact and the rights of gem workers.
Visitors will be able to reserve individual diamonds during the evening and arrange appointments to discuss having bespoke jewellery made. Corrinne’s existing collections will also be available to browse, with one-of-a-kind pieces offering potential Christmas gift ideas.
The first 50 people to arrive will receive a complimentary glass of champagne, courtesy of Gidleigh Park and served by hotel staff. The evening is also free to attend, with no booking required.

Corrinne studied Applied Arts at Plymouth College of Art before going on to study Jewellery and Silversmithing at Birmingham School of Jewellery. She later graduated from University College Falmouth with a BA Honours degree in Contemporary Craft.
Her work uses fully traceable Single Mine Origin gold and silver, alongside antique and ethically sourced gemstones. Her designs have featured in the Editor’s Choice pages of British Vogue and The Sunday Times Style magazine, as well as at London’s Goldsmiths’ Fair.
